Jackie accepted Christ as an adult at Battlefield Baptist Church and later served in the Children's Ministry, teaching the 1st & 2nd Grade Sunday School class.
After taking a mission trip in July 2001, Jackie and her husband, Larry, knew that God had called them to return to Zambia as full-time career missionaries. In Zambia, she taught children and trained young men to work with children as well. When God moved them from Zambia to Sierra Leone in 2007, Jackie continued to work with children and training others.
Upon leaving the mission field in 2012, the Owens family returned to Battlefield and Jackie went back to nursing. In late 2020, Jackie joined our staff assisting around the office and helping oversee the administrative duties of our Children's Ministry. She later took on more of a role and became our Children's Director.
Jackie and Larry were married in 1975 after Jackie graduated from nursing school. They have three children and six grandchildren.
