Karl Skinner and his wife Cindy were used by God to began the ministry of Battlefield Baptist Church in the fall of 1980. Early on, the Church began meeting in a local Seventh Day Adventist Church building until October of 1982. The congregation then purchased the Huntingwood Motel property. In May of the following year, the church broke ground on a new auditorium. After the building was completed, a tornado tore off the roof, and the membership voted at that time to enlarge the building to its present size.

The Lord has abundantly blessed over the years, and we give Him the praise for it all. In November of 2013, the people of Battlefield voted nearly unanimously to call Greg Corcoran to serve as their senior pastor. Excited about the future, the church moved forward at the end of 2014 to finish the remaining 16,000 sq. ft. of space located on the second floor of the education building. This newly finished space was dedicated in November of 2015 for Children's and Youth Ministry.

Today, Battlefield Baptist Church is a great place to get to know people. We are truly a family! When you come to Battlefield, you will receive a warm welcome like none other. It is our desire that you find Battlefield to be a friendly place, where you are always considered our honored guest! From the nursery through our adult ministries, our church family is dedicated to helping others fall more in love with God while falling more in love with His Word, and one another. We believe our commitment to building meaningful relationships is what makes Battlefield Baptist Church such a special place to worship and serve The Lord. Come join us and see for yourself what great things God is doing.

Pastor Emeritus Karl Skinner

Pastor Karl Skinner and his dear wife, Cindy, retired on Sunday, November 10, 2013 after 33 years of ministry at Battlefield Baptist Church in Warrenton, Virginia. The Skinners first came to northern Virginia in 1980 to plant a work in the Warrenton area after serving in Baltimore, Maryland. Battlefield began by meeting in a rented facility until purchasing the Huntingwood Motel property in 1982. Over the next three decades, the congregation grew and so did the need for larger facilities. Today, the church campus incorporates a large sanctuary, educational/office building, gymnasium, and additional spaces for ministry use.
