What Goes On In AWANA Clubs?
Opening Ceremony: Clubbers meet in the gym to begin each AWANA Club with pledges to the flags, songs, and prayer. (Puggles meet in the Preschool classroom.)
Group Time: This is the time when each club has their Bible story lesson. The lessons are tailored to each age group. The kids have a great time learning about Jesus.
Handbook Time: During this time, the children are divided into small groups to give them the opportunity to learn and recite verses and "sections" in their books. Each child works at their own pace.
Game Time: The clubs rotate into the gym for game time! This is a fun time for the kids to interact and play. (Puggles and Cubbies enjoy game time in their classroom.)
Closing Ceremony: At the end of each meeting, the clubbers join together to celebrate what they have learned and their accomplishments. Awards are given out at this time.
All fees go toward awards, supplies, books, uniforms, etc. Other churches collect weekly "dues" for their AWANA clubs to cover these costs. We find that it is more convenient to collect the fees at the time of registration. (NOTE: the church does not make any money from the AWANA program.)
What Do The Parents Do During AWANA?
There is an Adult Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall that takes place at the same time as the AWANA Clubs. We ask that parents do not drop off their children and leave - stay and get a "mid-week-pick-me-up"! We have an amazing Teen Ministry and Singles Ministry that meet at the same time as well. We have something for the entire family!
